Emerson to automate SkyNRG SAF plant
Emerson has been selected by Technip Energies to provide automation technologies for SkyNRG’ s sustainable aviation fuel( SAF) plant under construction in Delfzijl, Netherlands. The SAF facility is expected to produce approximately 100,000 tonnes annually once fully operational in 2028. It will convert residual fats and greases into a‘ drop-in’ fuel that can be blended with conventional jet fuel without modifications to aircraft or fueling infrastructure. The project is intended to support the Netherlands’ efforts to meet the EU sustainable aviation fuel mandate and the ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, which requires jet fuel supplied at EU airports to contain at least 2 % SAF from 2025, rising to 70 % by 2050.
Greene Tweed expands cryogenic and CO2 testing capabilities
Greene Tweed has expanded its in-house testing infrastructure with cryogenic leak and supercritical CO2 rapid gas decompression capabilities targeting semiconductor, aerospace, hydrogen, and carbon capture applications. The new cryogenic leak testing system evaluates sealing performance at temperatures as low as 4 Kelvin( −269 ° C / −452 ° F) with a tolerance of +/ −0.08 Kelvin. It uses a high-vacuum chamber, specialized thermal shielding, and helium leak detection technology capable of reading helium flow down to 5E-12 atm * cc / s. The system extends Greene Tweed’ s internal cryogenic testing range to cover conditions found in
semiconductor etch processes, aerospace and space systems, and liquid hydrogen applications. Greene Tweed has also added supercritical CO2 rapid gas decompression( RGD) testing to its portfolio to support the carbon capture, utilization, and storage( CCUS) market. The process evaluates materials and sealing solutions under supercritical CO2 conditions aligned with industry standards such as ISO 23936-2, or custom application conditions up to 350 ° C and 5,000 PSI. The company said it expects the capability to accelerate qualification timelines for valves, pipelines, compressors, storage vessels, and other CCUS infrastructure.
