VALVE DESIGN encourage early and open communication of uncertainty and engage subject matter experts( SMEs) and vendors to validate assumptions before risks materialise. Capturing lessons learned and integrating them into specifications, design reviews, and checklists enables organisations to transform individual experience into shared knowledge. In particular, documenting first-time factors and associated countermeasures for recurring valve issues strengthens future risk management practices and supports standardisation across projects. As shown below, we captured the First-Time Factor and countermeasures for the three troubles. Finally, strong collaboration among end users, EPC contractors, and vendors is essential. Each party contributes distinct expertise, operational insight, project execution knowledge, and manufacturing capability, and early information sharing enables comprehensive evaluation of risks. First-time valve factors are inevitable in complex EPC projects, but with awareness, systematic processes, and cross-functional collaboration, their impact can be effectively minimised, leading to more reliable and successful outcomes.
Industry feedback: The First-Time Factor is bigger than valves
