Parker Hannifin acquires Meggitt
Parker-Hannifin Corp . ( Cleveland , Ohio , US ) has completed its acquisition of aerospace and defense components manufacturer Meggitt PLC ( Coventry , UK ) for approximately GBP 6.3bn . Meggitt reportedly had annual revenue of approximately GBP 1.63bn for the 12 months ending June 30 , 2022 , and employs more than 9,000 team members serving customers globally . Meggitt is said to have diverse aerospace and defense exposure with technology and products on almost every major aircraft platform . Parker ’ s core offerings now include braking systems , advanced engine sensors , safety systems , engine valve and actuation , electric power , and thermal management . To Meggitt ’ s portfolio , Parker adds insight and pedigree of flight controls and hydraulics , fluid systems including fuel tank inerting , fluid conveyance , lubrication , and more .
Hydract , a company that specialises in valve technologies for the hygienic liquid processing industry , has partnered with Freudenberg Sealing Technologies to develop three food-legislation-compliant seals for Hydract ’ s patented water-hydraulic process valves . These are a Hygienic Pressure Seal made of Quantum PTFE F18245 and 85 EPDM 302 in

two sizes , a hygienic radial seal made of 85 EPDM 302 , and a static seal in which two O-rings made of 85 EPDM 302 are combined to form a sealing element .
The company states that , unlike conventional valves , Hydract relies on water instead of compressed air to power the valve actuator . The valves used in the process industry must be able to meet high standards in terms of hygienic design specifications , receive industry-specific approvals , and resist CIP / SIP media ( Clean in Place / Sterilisation in Place ).
Jacobs supports UK nuclear labs
Jacobs was selected as a full lifecycle delivery partner to support infrastructure renewal projects at various facilities run by the UK ’ s government-owned , but operationally independent , National Nuclear Laboratory ( NNL ). NNL estimates the contract value at USD 12M ( GBP 10M ) and the initial contract term is one year with options for three additional one-year extensions . Scope includes design , build , and refurbishment work at the Windscale and Central Laboratories at Sellafield in Cumbria , specialist analytical services and process chemistry facility in Preston , and a test-rig center in Workington .
