Bespak achieves sustainability milestone with first life cycle assessment for pressurised Metered Dose Inhaler valve
Warren Controls highlights the 1800 Series Heavy Globe Control Valves, designed for high-capacity applications across a range of industries. With rugged construction and
precision control, the 1800 Series provides reliable performance in demanding environments. Warren Controls’ 1800 Series handles extreme temperatures(-20 ° F to 800 ° F) and corrosive fluids, offering balanced / unbalanced and three-way configurations for chemical, food and beverage, power and refining industries. The 1800 Series is available in connection sizes up to 12 inches, offering two-way balanced and unbalanced models, as well as three-way mixing and diverting configurations. Capable of handling extreme temperatures from-20 ° F to 800 ° F, highpressure drops and corrosive fluids, these valves are ideal for industries such as chemical processing, district energy, food and beverage, marine, power and refining.
Bespak, a specialist inhalation contract development and manufacturing organisation( CDMO), today announced that it has completed its first life cycle assessment( LCA) for its marketleading BK357 pressurised Metered Dose Inhaler( pMDI) valve. This important step comes as a result of Bespak’ s commitment to looking beyond low Global Warming Potential( GWP) propellants for opportunities to reduce carbon footprint in the pharma industry. The completion of Bespak’ s first LCA marks a significant milestone that has been achieved as part of Bespak’ s overarching sustainability strategy. It follows Bespak’ s investment in manufacturing capabilities at clinical and commercial scale for low carbon pMDIs incorporating the low GWP propellants, HFA-152a & HFO-1234ze. The project was undertaken to better understand the carbon impact of Bespak’ s materials and manufacturing processes, and to increase transparency in the supply chain for pMDIs. The LCA has been independently verified by expert sustainability scientists from Tunley Environmental in line with ISO 14067:2018 standards. A verified LCA certification for industry partners using the BK357 valve will enable them to leverage robust, scienceled insights that can support transparency in their sustainability reporting, sustainable procurement frameworks and the transition to net zero carbon emissions. The LCA also provides clear direction for future carbon reduction initiatives at Bespak, including emissionsaving opportunities in the material and energy stages of the product life cycle.
