Westinghouse and Celeros Sign MoU for AP1000 / AP300 Projects
Hidrogenii commissions hydrogen liquefaction plant
Westinghouse Electric Company and Celeros Flow Technology( FT) have signed a memorandum of understanding( MoU) to support nuclear new-build projects in Canada and globally. Under the agreement, Celeros FT has the potential to design and fabricate valves and pumps for key AP1000 and AP300 projects. The announcement is the latest in a series of agreements with Canadian firms to support Westinghouse’ s AP1000 and AP300 projects globally. For each AP1000 unit that is built outside of Canada, Westinghouse can generate almost 1 billion Canadian dollars in gross
domestic product( GDP) through local suppliers. Celeros FT, a leader in nuclear pumps and valves, manufactures equipment from four certified facilities. In fact, 65 % of operational nuclear power plants feature Celeros FT’ s Clyde Union Pumps and Copes-Vulcan valve installations globally. Westinghouse is owned by Brookfield and Cameco. It’ s the only nuclear vendor with an advanced and fully operational Generation III + reactor technology ready to be deployed in Canada and generate electricity by as early as 2035.
Hidrogenii, the joint venture between Plug Power Inc. and Olin Corporation, today announced the commissioning of its 15 metric-ton-per-day( TPD) hydrogen liquefaction plant in St. Gabriel, Louisiana. Among the largest electrolytic hydrogen liquefaction facilities in North America, the site marks a major milestone in strengthening the regional hydrogen supply chain and
accelerating the US transition to low-carbon energy. The newly commissioned facility will liquify hydrogen produced by Olin for trailer shipments across the US, serving Plug’ s material handling customers and utilising Plug’ s novel spot pricing market. The plant is designed to liquefy up to 15 TPD of hydrogen at maximum capacity, increasing Plug’ s total production capacity to 40 TPD.
