Valve associations merge

In the face of growing European regulation, technological change and changing markets, the member companies of the VDMA Welding and Pressure Gas Equipment Association are joining the Industrial Valves Division in VDMA Valves- a strategic move to increase clout and visibility.

Response to profound change
The increasing complexity of EU regulations- from requirements for materials and sustainability criteria to the Digital Product Passport- requires stronger representation of interests. By joining forces, the two organisations are now speaking with a united voice and making their voices heard by politicians, the public and relevant stakeholders. Both sides share a number of common issues- including regulatory requirements for materials, environmental aspects such as PFAS and lead, technological innovations and changes in the product portfolios of member companies. The aim of the merger is to bundle forces, strengthen networks and represent the interests of members in an even more targeted and effective manner under a common umbrella in future. In addition to proven services such as market statistics and specialist committee work,

member companies will benefit from a larger community, an expanded service portfolio and bundled consulting expertise. Axel Weidner, Partner at Mankenberg GmbH and Chairman of the VDMA Valves Association, said:“ By pooling our expertise, we are creating an even more powerful network that can address technological, regulatory and strategic challenges more efficiently.” www. valve-world. net Valve World August 2025
