Asahi / America , Inc . opens fabrication facility API 19CI qualified retrievable injection valve
Thermoplastic valve and pipe manufacturer Asahi / America , Inc . opened the doors and celebrated the grand opening of its newly constructed Louisianabased fabrication shop in Paulina , LA , with customers , partners , employees , and local government officials . The new facility focuses on large-scale thermoplastic pre-fabrication and is known as Asahi / America PPI , a division of Asahi / America . |
Construction of the new 5481 m2 fabrication facility finished in late 2022 in a neighbouring city adjacent to the original facility . It will add over 3345 m2 and will improve the efficiencies of large-scale and complex prefabrication piping projects . Asahi / America initially expanded its fabrication capabilities and operational capacity during the acquisition of Performance Plastics Inc . ( PPI ) in 2018 . |
The installation for a major Norwegian operator is the first API 19CI qualified retrievable injection valve to be successfully installed on the NCS . The FNR injection valve allows operators to retrieve and change the valve or Anti-U-Tube mechanism during the well ’ s lifetime , which can save operators the potential costs of recompleting a well due to CIV failure . to 150 degrees Celsius , making it suitable for various applications . The technology is based on the already proven permanent CIV from TCO and the back pressure retention mechanism was redesigned to meet the requirement of 5000 psi Anti-U-Tube prevention . TCO developed the FNR injection valve with support from SLB , who supplied mandrel and running tools in the API test and field trial . This enabled TCO to increase the side pocket mandrel offering , to meet the enhanced criteria . |
