UNITED STATES : SLB announced the award of a contract by bp to its OneSubsea joint venture for a subsea boosting system in the greenfield development of the Kaskida project in the deepwater U . S . Gulf of Mexico . This award marks the latest milestone in the long-standing relationship between SLB One- Subsea and bp and is the first engineering , procurement and construction ( EPC ) contract for a subsea boosting system between the two companies . The project scope includes a supplierled , high-pressure subsea pump solution complete with an integrated power and controls umbilical , as well as associated topside equipment . The OneSubsea subsea boosting system is a key technology within bp ’ s first Paleogene field development . It will supply the required artificial lift needed to maximize production through the accelerated recovery of reserves with minimal energy consumption .

MEXICO : McDermott has been awarded a front-end engineering design ( FEED ) contract by Repsol Exploración México for the Polok and Chinwol field development project in the Gulf of Mexico . McDermott will provide comprehensive FEED services for the project ’ s engineering , procurement , construction , and installation ( EPCI ) of subsea , umbilicals , risers , and flowlines ( SURF ). The Polok and Chinwol fields were the first deep-water oil discoveries made by Repsol and partners in Mexico in 2020 . The fields are part of Mexico Block 29 project in the Salina Basin , which is under exploration phase . Located off the coast of southern part of Gulf of Mexico , some 88 kilometers from the state of Tabasco , it covers an area of 3,254 km 2 .

With over 30 years of experience in the industry , Dan DeVine began his career in 1987 working for the Union Carbide Corporation after graduating from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering . He joined a major chemical company in 2001 through the acquisition of Union Carbide . Recently retired , Dan is now working in a valve and piping consulting engineer role as an independent contractor through Midland Engineering , Ltd .
