Rotork Boosts YT-1000 Efficiency with 30 % Air Savings
• By KCI Editorial
Wolseley ' s DispatchTrack Increases Operations Efficiency
One of the latest products from Wolseley Canada is its DispatchTrack, a delivery management platform that streamlines operations by monitoring timely deliveries, real-time visibility, and seamless communication between facilities and its customers.
The announcement comes following a successful rollout of the system at Ferguson Enterprises Inc.- Wolseley’ s parent company- where it enhanced driver efficiency, fleet utilization, and customer satisfaction.
In addition, a number of benefits for both facility operators and its customers include route optimization, real-time tracking, electronic proof of delivery, as well as automated notifications and updates.
Rotork has achieved efficiency improvement in its YTC positioner family through advanced engineering, focusing on its flagship YT-1000 electro-pneumatic positioner. Widely used to operate pneumatic valve actuators in both safe and hazardous industrial environments, the YT-1000 typically relies on compressed air, an energy-intensive process with inherent inefficiencies.
Recognizing this challenge, Rotork launched a targeted initiative to reduce air consumption without compromising performance, reliability, or control accuracy. The project brought together cross-functional teams from R & D, product management, and sustainability, guided by a strong customer-focused innovation approach.
Through rigorous testing aligned with IEC 61514:2000 standards and validated by real-world field trials, the company successfully developed an optimized configuration of the YT-1000. The results demonstrated a substantial reduction in compressed air usage while maintaining high operational standards.
This improvement delivers tangible benefits, including approximately 30 % lower annual air consumption, which directly reduces customers’ energy costs. Additionally, it contributes to lowering Scope 3 emissions associated with product use, supporting Rotork’ s broader net-zero ambitions.
KROHNE Enhances Pressure Measurement Systems Portfolio
KROHNE’ s Reconnect quick coupling system is one of the latest launches within the company’ s pressure measurement portfolio and is engineered to provide safe separation and connection of diaphragm seal systems with capillaries.
The system is positioned between a pressure or differential pressure transmitter and the process connection, which enables maintenance, repair, and / or verification of the transmitter without interrupting the process. It also allows fast, leak-free disconnection of the capillary tubes without losing filling fluid and contamination.
The design is based on a two-piece ball valve. When closed, both sides are hydraulically connected and locked. When it’ s opened, both sides remain pressure-tight and can be separated axially.
