Virtual Reality School

Our group is working to make a virtual reality map of the High School. We are working to do so with a Ricoh Theta 360 Camera we are going to take footage around the school and then we plan on converting the footage we captured into a virtual reality map of the High School for not only the new students to Valley View but even for new sophomore's to the building and even for emergency situations if people are in need of escape routes or even shortcuts around our building. We created a short video consisting of us going around the High School and talking to some students and faculty members about our project and we had asked them some questions and interviewed them over there personal opinions about our EAST project this year. Most of the responses claimed by the students was that when they first got into the High School they had been lost or stressed and in need of finding there classes. They mostly thought that the Virtual Reality Map we are creating would be a very good and helpful idea to add and would help a lot of people out and would lower the stress level that most students usually have when they are trying to find out where they are needing to go with in the short time period students get between class+es. We have also edited a couple pictures that relate to our project work so far. These pictures include a paper map of the school and just some pictures we got from around the High School. So overall we believe that our project will end up helping a majority of people that are in need of mapping around our building and according to other people out of our group they believe it would make a huge impact in helping which is my partner and I’s main goal that we are hoping to accomplish in the near future, and hopefully with us constantly working towards finishing our project we will be able to exceed our goal and have a nice finished product.

Art Club

“Art club is now a former name, It is now newly know as Art Honor Society. If you were to be in Art Honor Society we do all sorts of things such as projects that will contribute to your service hours. Art Honor Society is held in the art room every Wednesday, students then use that time to finish up on their art work or just do small activities that can help out the club and or school..”says Mrs.Barnes. The officers consist of our secretary Asia Kelley, our president Mia Goodrich, our vice president Diana Turner, our reporter Briana Thomas, and our treasurer Valeria Flores. We create artwork for community base purposes. We are putting forth the time and the effort to create pinwheels for the national honor society and we are making magazine beads for water filtration systems in Africa. Art Honor Society helps students bring out their “inner gypsy”, as some members call it. In this Society, we help our culture, we help other students and teachers, making anything they need artwork wise. Student may choose whether or not they participate in art competitions. “Normally we have 3 or 4 at any given month.” says Mrs. Barnes. It’s a great way to win scholarships and money. During Advisory periods on Wednesday, our officers (previously mentioned above) get together in the art room and gather up ideas for competitions and their dates, our field trips, to discuss what we should work on for future events, to just simply make announcements during the Wednesday after school meetings, and maybe even create new rules for the rest of our meetings. “There is something going on all the time.” says Mrs.Barnes. The society often takes field trips to art galleries and museums. We really hope you join!
