Let us begin with a special announcement
this year, two of our highest awards were
given out at the Valken Corps Players Party in
Taylorsville North Carolina during the Fulda
Gap Big Game, this past November.
Valken CORps
Team of the Year
The first award was presented to Team Boxer
who is involved in many games and events and
they are as affective off the field as they are on
it. They portray a camaraderie that every team
should learn from. Their practices are effective,
and the coordinating workshops they put together are just one of the many examples how
impressive they work as a team. Team Boxer
makes sure to work as a team every time where
no man is left behind. Their positive work ethic
on the field is something other teams feed off
of and Boxer is always lending a hand to other
teams, with guidance and support. They truly
show teamwork like no other, proving they are
VALKEN CORPS TEAM OF THE YEAR!

to thank him for all he has done for the Corps
and all he continues to do. It’s my pleasure to
award Rob McLellan REGIONAL COMMANDER
OF THE YEAR.
LIFETIME TEAMMATE AWARD
We also had another surprise this year. Rob
McLellan awarded one of his teammates, the
lifetime teammate award. This award was
presented by a special proposal to his soon
to be Bride! Violet Acevedo. That’s right e
veryone she said YES! Congrats on the soon
to be Mr. and Mrs. Regional Commander.

of the Year
The Second Award was presented to
one individual who works in front
and behind the scenes to help
the Corps. With his exceptional leadership skills consists
of many facets. He provides
input and a firsthand
approach as a player to the
monthly Valken newsletter,
both as a player but also from
a captain’s perspective during
battle. This individual shows us
what it takes to be a Regional
Commander. His determination to “do the
right thing, because it’s the right thing to do”.
He also likes to show others how to stay true to
the sport and give his time selflessly, all with an
energy and focus for the Corps. We would like
