The two team commanders were each handed
a sealed mission to start the day. Every 10-20
minutes a new scenario was released. Players
had to accomplish various objectives such as,
disarming a mock bomb, setting up a communications array, and escorting a spy across enemy
lines to get a photo of the opposing team’s
commander. In total this event raised $1370.00
for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Playing
paintball for
a great cause!
This summer players of Canada’s Maritime
region opened their wallets to help out the
Canadian Diabetes Association while participating in two awesome days of paintball.
“Redemption” on August 25th was a pump and
pistol game that took place at SNL Paintball
in Truro, Nova Scotia. The theme for the event
was the Wild West, where players dressed in
cowboy or bandito costumes and undertook
missions to retrieve gold nugget props, gear
prizes, and even a pair of women’s underwear
in order to score points for their respective
teams. While leading my band of deputies
against the Bandito El Rango (Fellow Wolverine
teammate Paul Darrow) and his outlaw horde,
it was great to see players enjoying a fun, light
hearted day of paintball. The event ended with
a silent auction of donated items to generate
additional funds for the Canadian Diabetes
Association. In total, the event raised $1525.00
for the charity.
Events like
“Redemption” and
“Disavowed” are
fantastic ways for
players to give
back to their
communities.
Judging by the
generous responses
from the players,
they are as happy to
help as I am. It is also
worth noting that Valken Sports was an official
sponsor of both events, and it is refreshing to
see a large company that still has a heart.
I love scenario paintball, and I love helping
people. If you ask around I think you’ll find
that many players at your local field share
similar values. Once again I encourage you find a cause that
means something to you,
and to use this sport that
we love to contribute to
it in a meaningful way.
“Disavowed” was a scenario event, held on
October 6th at Camp Debert Army Paintball in
Debert, N.S. In total, 99 players took to the field
for the best scenario event to be offered in the
region in years. Players were split into two teams
that were commanded by accomplished local
