internship. Well because I found there an
interesting internship. I have been living
here from November 2018 to May 2019.
How many languages do you speak?
Italian. English. Spanish (still improving)
and some Portuguese.
What are the differences between your
country and Spain?
There are a lot. The first that comes in my
mind: food!
Why did you want to do your
internship in VLE?
I thought there was an interesting and
stimulating environment.
Did you enjoy it? What where your
everyday tasks? Did you help with
everyday language exchanges?
Yes, a lot! I used to update social network
pages and create new content. During
the language exchanges I tried to put
together people that they could share the
same interests.
Did you help with festival
organization? What did you do?
Everyone was involved in all the daily
activities. From the logistics to more
practical things. We looked for potential
partners, collaborators, artists and then
contacting them.
I've heard that you had to come back
to University but also you wanted to be
part of festival organizing group until
the end. How did you manage this?
There are really good connection (in
terms of buses and flights) between
Valencia and Lisbon (the city in which
I study). Moreover Nini was really
understanding and gave me some free
days.
What did you like in language
exchanges? Did you come there to talk
51
with people or to practice languages?
When I took part in the language
exchange (not as an organizer) was
mainly to practice languages.
Can you tell us something about the
festival?
The festival was a great opportunity to
gather the expats living in Valencia and
learn something about their customs.
Were you the only intern working on a
festival? With who were you working?
No. I had Belgian, Dutch, German and
Italian colleagues.
Do you like travelling? Do you usually
travel solo or with your friends?
Yes, I do. I usually travel alone.
The most interesting story from your
travels?
I have a recurring story: I always get lost!
What was the most crazy thing you
have done in your life?
Working with Nini?
Your favourite place in Valencia?
Ruzafa neighbourhood and Turia
gardens.
Tell me your favourite Spanish/English
word.
Duende/serendipity.
