The updates don’ t stop there; VSU’ s increased demand in STEM degrees has given rise to new programs, including new degrees as a whole. VSU will begin offering new programs, one such degree path being the Bachelor of Science in Data Science. These pathways are designed to attract more students, especially those looking for on-campus learning to increase the campus population and income.
With a $ 385 million impact on the city of Valdosta, the growth of Valdosta State University is vital to the growth of the city at large. It stretches into everyday life and enriches the community by providing a diversified population and more opportunities for work. These projects are expected to boost the university’ s student, staff and faculty population, and with it, the population of the city and nearby areas. It is a community resource, and its growth and revitalization in the face of global shutdown and natural disasters will feed into the city of Valdosta.
