Christmas Movies
5At number five on my top five Christmas movies list is “ Spirited ”. It ’ s only a couple of years old , but , to me , it ’ s already a classic . It ’ s a clever and musical take on A Christmas Carol as the Ghost of Christmas Present , played by Will Ferrell , and his team try to redeem a man who has been marked “ unredeemable ,” played by Ryan Reynolds . The music is delightful , the story is excellent , and the comedic dynamic between Ferrell and Reynolds is incredible . There is a little too much language for my liking , however , and does deal with some pretty heavy themes . However , it is still a delightful and surprisingly deep film about love and redemption .
4Number four is “ Home Alone 2 : Lost in New York ”. Usually , folks think about the first Home Alone and , while it is a phenomenal movie , I just enjoy Kevin ’ s antics around New York much more . The lavish hotel , the old broken-down prank house , and watching Marv , played by Daniel Stern , get smacked in the forehead with bricks will never get old . There is an excellent and heartfelt story , as well , between Kevin and the Pigeon Lady . Plus , Tim Curry may be the best secondary character in any Christmas movie .
