Beautiful Creations by Chanel 1st Annual Tools for School in Quitman August 2015 . This young lady won a book bag with all the necessities plus much more .
“ The seniors at Valdosta High School have an opportunity to write an essay on why they deserve to have an all-expenses paid prom . We want to indulge them in the experience of preparing for prom so they can attend the event with confidence . Typically , only young ladies apply , but we have a young man this year . We pay for formal attire , shoes , hair care services , professional pictures , dinner , and the prom ticket . The young lady also receives a manicure , pedicure , and make-up services .”
The second event is in April and was started in 2019 , the Beautiful Creations by Chanel scholarship .
Randolph said , “ The scholarship is intended for Valdosta High School seniors to further their education . They can submit an essay or video about how the scholarship would benefit them . I coordinate with the high school ’ s counselor and teacher to facilitate this scholarship . The student can receive $ 500 before their first year of college for technology , school supplies , books , or other college-related expenses .”
The third and signature event in August is Tools for School in Valdosta .
“ We partner with local businesses and 35 volunteers to distribute 500 bookbags to children in Orla West , Hudson Dockett , Park Chase , Brittney Woods , and Azalea Woods . We meet children and families where they are by walking around the neighborhoods to distribute the tools kids need to thrive in the upcoming school year . The book bags include paper , pocket folders , notebooks , pens , pencils , crayons , colored pencils , glue , and erasers . We also have drinks and chips at the event .”
The fourth event is a Thanksgiving Drive which began in 2016 . “ We pair with a school or organization to reach out to 5 families to provide them with everything for a Thanksgiving meal . We provide pans , seasonings , and food . The school counselor typically tells us about families in need and recommends them .”
The final event for the year is “ A Beautiful Christmas ,” which occurs in December and began in 2020 .
“ We work with the Mildred Hunter Center , and each child receives a ticket so they can choose from 500-600 toys . We serve cookies and hot chocolate , and Santa is in the building . Last year we also drove to another community , parked at a community center , and distributed 200-300 toys by word of mouth . It was amazing .”
This young lady won a bike that was raffled off at A Beautiful Christmas .
