THE NETHERLANDS: Youth OBR Rising was held during the Exchange Global Exploration 2024 conference in Amsterdam with youth delegates from the Netherlands, Nepal, South Africa, Indonesia, Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya highlighting OBR and dancing“ Break The Chain”.
INDIA: Held over 67 huge risings in over 22 states, organized by over 26 national organizations. These risings were attended by women and girls in large numbers, young men, school children, college students( girls and boys), farmers( men and women), marginalized communities including the Dalits, Musahars( and most marginalized communities who live in forests), minority religious communities, Muslim women organizations – and other castes. Events also had huge numbers of artists and performers, members of the transgender communities and multiple sexual identity groups. In April they are holding a huge The Swara Mountain Arts Festival 3rd Edition. This is their Freedom Festival – a six-day festival celebration on love, peace and harmony.
BANGLADESH: Held a huge Freedom Festival event in the town center with thousands of people. A total number of 8,000 people joined the Human Chains across 37 districts.
ESWATINI: Held 10 community grassroots festivals attended by traditional leaders and which included circles of listening, healing and empowerment. Also held a huge Artistic Freedom Festival attended by 4,000 people.
SINGAPORE: Actions with domestic workers – with the theme“ Freedom for Workers”. International domestic workers will be performing“ The Vagina Monologues” in June, the first time this is happening in Singapore.
