STUDENTS TOGETHER ENDING POVERTY (STEP)
Students Together Ending Poverty (STEP) works to
alleviate hunger in the state of Utah and completes
projects to aid people around the world suffering
from poverty. During the 2013-2014 school year,
the STEP program hosted a combination of
awareness, fundraising, and direct service events.
In October, the first Frankie’s 5K to “Scare Hunger
Away” took place with over 60 participants and
volunteers raising funds and awareness for the
STEP program. Additionally, the STEP program
assembled 200 cars for the Happy Toy Car build,
served lunch at the St. Anne’s Homeless Shelter
in Ogden, Utah, and raised funds to support 6
children in the Cache Valley Sub for Santa drive.
STEP also partnered with the SEEEME program
to host the annual Hunger Banquet to help fight
overty in Uganda.
