The Service-Learning Scholars program
provides student with the opportunity to
combine meaningful service with
academic course work and to create
sustainable change in their communities.
37 scholars participated in the program
during the 2013-2014 school year including graduating scholars and 11 newly admitted
scholars.

STUDENT NUTRITION ACCESS CENTER (SNAC)
The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) is a program dedicated to serving USU students and the Cache Valley community. During the 2013-2014 school year, approximately 430 services were provided to 142 students. Approximately 2,776 pounds of food were distributed to students and over 2,400 pounds of food) were collected..
Partners for the 2013-2014 school year included USU/SA, the Service Center, USU Hockey Team, USU Housing, the Archaeology Club, LDSSA, Cache Food Pantry, USU Dining, ROTC, the College of Education, Edith Bowen Laboratory Elementary School, and USU Greek Community. The most successful events for SNAC were the bi-annual Re:Cycled Fashion Show hosted by the Family and Consumer Education degree program. During the two shows, over 1500 food items were donated to the pantry.

Scholars worked on a variety of capstone projects. This year, scholars partnered with the Bear River Land Conservancy, the Cache Valley Volunteer Center, the USU Blue Goes Green program, and the Logan Regional Hospital to develop sustainble solutions to issues in our community.
