Professor Rhod McNeill completed his studies
in singing, composition and musicology at the
University of Melbourne. Rhod teaches into the
history and composition courses of the program,
and has had two books published – The Australian
Symphony from Federation to 1960 (2014) and
The Music of Carl Vine (2017).
Helen Russell is a bassist who has worked
extensively in the jazz and music theatre worlds
over many years. Helen has a particular interest
in integrating aural and theoretical skills, aligning
with the BCA focus on holistic music education.
Mark Scholtes is a multi-award-winning songwriter
and recording artist; the first Australian artist to
record for the legendary Verve record label in New
York. His creative practice to date demonstrates a
strong commitment to collaboration. Mark brings
to the program expertise in songwriting, music
practice, and music production.
Bruce Woodward is a jazz and contemporary
guitarist. A graduate of the West Australian
Academy of Arts and the Queensland
Conservatorium of Music, Bruce is active in the
theory and performance courses within the BCA.
