Washington Nationals (26-4) The Nationals made several big moves but still sit a top of the power rankings due to a heavy powered offense. They sacrificed pitching in order to get Carlos Gonzalez from the Rockies. They will be a force in the playoffs as long as they can get good production from their SP's.

New York Yankees (27-8) The Yankkes are sitting a top of the playoff seedings but that can change at a moment's notice. The Yankees are relying on veterans bats along with speed atop their lineup. The Yankees traded away C.C. Sabathia so they really only have one ace (Masahiro Tanaka).

Cincinnatti Reds (18-8) The Reds made a trade deadline deal getting Shin-Soo Choo from the Rangers. This deal has added another left handed bat in the middle of the order. The Reds will only go as far as their two studs (Homer Bailey and Matt Latos) will take them.

San Fransisco Giants (18-14) The Giants have relied on Buster Posey and Hunter Pence to be the big boppers in the middle of their lineup. After a slow start (0-8) the GIants have pulled it together and are looking to make a playoff push. The Giants have strong starting pitching and should be powerful if they go to a 4 man rotation.

St. Louis Cardinals (12-10) The Cardinals were actively trying to move some starting pitching at the deadline but didn't have any luck. The Cardinals are going to be a tough out as you can never count this team out of a playoff series. If the Cardinals can get enough timely hitting they can make it far in the playoffs.
