MLB Trade Deadline:
The trade deadline passed last night and there was some movement throughout the league. There wasn’t a more active team in trade talks than the Texas Rangers as the Rangers drastically changed the culture of their team. The Texas Rangers added Melky Cabrera, Dennard Span, Dioner Navarro Sean Marshall and Yamaico Navarro. However, the Rangers probably the best player in the deals as they moved newly acquired SP C.C. Sabathia up north to Toronto. It was a bold move for the Rangers as they are looking to make playoff push within the last week of the season.
Speaking of the last week of the season, teams are starting to push themselves into playoff contention. There are still several teams looking to get into the 8th spot which is currently held by the Seattle Mariners (10 wins). It is unclear how many wins will be needed but I would expect several teams to get very active this week and make a push. It might come down to the last game/day of the season. This is a reminder that the last day of the regular season will be Monday June 30th.
At that time we will sim the rest of the season and make sure the standings stay as is for playoffs. We are hoping to finish the playoffs within 2 weeks and start the offseason phase ASAP. Look for a offseason guide to pop up since this will be our 1st MLB offseason.
