Author Interview with Daniel Darcey ULM: Do you have a new release coming up? If so, can you share with us readers what it is and what it’s about? DD: I have 2 prequels in various stages of development. A total of 3 in all. Sequels will be started next year. ULM: How did you get started in writing science fiction/fantasy novels? DD: It was a very long road. And several full rewrites. A lot of world building for this particular epic. It all started when I wanted to fuse my 2 favorite stories together. You can see them in my first novel. The Little Mermaid by Hans Christen Andersen, and the Hunt for the Red October by Tom Clancy. Then the story evolved from there. ULM: I noticed your are self-published. How many of your books are published on Amazon so far? DD: So far I have 4 published novels on Amazon, in both ebook and print. -Kingdoms and Empires - Dark Rage -Kingdoms and Empires - Rise of the Federation -Kingdoms and Empires - Trinity Tales -Kingdoms and Empires - Redemption ULM: What is it like being an indie writer? DD: Very interesting an experience. ULM: As a writer, what are your New Year goals, if any? I am going to write my 3 prequels and get them out onto Amazon by the end of 2020. The names of them will be: -Kingdoms and Empires - The Dance of Light and Darkness -Kingdoms and Empires - Wings of the Warbird -Kingdoms and Empires - The Winds of Time ULM: Out of all your books thus far, which one was the most fun to write? Which group of characters did you enjoy creating the most? DD: It is super hard to chose between the 4 i have so far. But I would say that the fourth novel (Kingdoms and Empires - Redemption) would be it. My characters I took pride in designing and fleshing out. ULM: As an indie writer, what advice would you give to inspiring to be writers? DD: It is a very long and hard road, but it will be worth it once you see your hard work in print. Just don’t have too many high expectations. And be smart about what you do with your work. ULM: What are some of the toughest parts you have experienced as an author, if any? How did you over come them? DD: Having to editor and rewrite your work. It requires a lot or reading and rereading of your own work. And to have others look it over to help. Always be ready to accept criticism. ULM: In three words, how would you describe your writing style? DD: On The Fly ULM: Where can readers connect with you online? Where can they find your books? DD: I’m usually on twitter and facebook , I’m also open to talk about my novels and my process. I can even offer some help as well for other authors.
