Q&A with Author Jennifer Renson ULM: How many poems have you written so far? ULM: Which of your poems would say is your favorite? I have never counted the amount of poems I have written. I can say that I have been writing since childhood and since then my poems have changed, adapted and improved. My favorite poems are my The Walking Dead inspired ones. It is no secret that I have been a fan of the show since the beginning. I find the story, characters, and locations compelling topics for my poems. It amazes me that as the show is about to continue it's second half of Season 10 how much it has impacted me and my writing. I love to look back at those poems, some I haven't self- published yet, and remember those characters or that season of the show and how much it has changed since. ULM: What types of poetry do you enjoy creating? I base my poems on what inspires me. Admittedly my inspiration has a mind of it's own. I can never tell what my next poem will be about until it is complete. That is the beauty of poetry. You never know what will happen. ULM: How many books do you have published? I have three self-published poetry books: Delightfully Dark: A Collection of Poems and Tales, Eo: Go, walk, ride, sail, pass, travel and Uncharted. I have written two modern-day fairy tales with a whimsical twist that I will self publish in the near future titled: Carousel and The Cottontail. ULM: How would you describe your writing style? I would best describe my writing style as creative storytelling. I find that no matter the subject of my poems and writing, I tend to tell a story in some way. Even if it is unintentional. I have embraced my style of writing some years ago, proud that I can tell a story about any subject. ULM: You mentioned you do other types of writing. Can you share with us, readers, about that? I am currently a contributor for Fansided's Dork Side of the Force. This is a Star Wars Fansided page where I have been writing about Star Wars merchandise, Galaxy's Edge, characters and other topics. In the past I was a contributor for Fansided's Undead Walking, which is a The Walking Dead Fansided page. ULM: What were your struggles as a writer, if any? What advice would you give to future writers?
