Questions for the panel will focus on topics such as police-community
relations, but the overarching topic of the event will be how policy-
makers, activists and other community members can come together to
create genuine change – and how likely it is that change will come any
time soon. This will be an event that you do not want to miss!

These workshops will highlight St. Louis’ role as the new focal
point of the Civil Rights Movement. The Urban League of
Metropolitan St. Louis, through the 2018 Urban Expo: Back To
School and Community Festival, will be hosting a 2-Day Protest
to Policy and Programs Forum August 11 and 12, 2018. Come
witness some of the leading minds on St. Louis Civil Rights action
discuss topics focused on the continuous failure of a criminal
justice system who unfairly punishes certain segments of our
community, to the systemic issues that are leading to the negative
activities in neighborhoods. We will have panelist discussing
protests and fairness in policing, community-police relations, and
the overarching topic of how policymakers, activists and other
community members can come together to create genuine change
– and how likely it is that change will come any time soon. Both
panels will be moderated by the Urban League of Metropolitan St.
Louis’ Vice President of Civil Rights and Advocacy Redditt
Hudson. The Urban League wants all who are a part of this
community to come and voice their opinions and gain new
motivation for change from the two panels.

The first panel, held on Saturday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m. will
center around significant public safety and police department re-
forms and accountability, including ways to improve police-com-
munity relations, the role of clergy in protests and fairness
