Local Codes And Policies Each city or municipality will have different departments that create and monitor policies with regard to urban agriculture.  Many local governments are supportive of urban agriculture endeavors while others may be more apprehensive of growing food in the urban setting.  It is important to discover what department/s in your local government is in charge of these codes and ordinances.  For example, in the city of Long Beach, the Office of Sustainability provides resources and information about implementing edible landscapes.
