NAFTA Superhighway
In the early 2000’s, Texas Governor Rick Perry
proposed a new “Trans-Texas Corridor” which would
have run more or less parallel to I-35 from the
Mexican border to the Oklahoma state line, including
not only a highway, but also railway track, fiber-optic
cable and a petroleum pipeline. This proposal raised
concerns in neighboring states about how the highway
might affect international trade, with opponents

Can of Worms
In Duluth, Minnesota, near its northern terminus, I-35
has an interchange with I-535/US 53 known locally as
the “Can of Worms.” This junction features a pair of
left exits from 35, a stoplight, and lane drops over the
I-35 bridge.

A Light Goes Out
With immense shock and heartbreak, I am posting
about the sudden loss of my father, Nick LaVigne.
ANNA LAVIGNE |
While at the Arizona
Renaissance Festival,
he suffered a massive
heart attack, and passed
either late Sunday
night, or early Monday
morning.
My dad was an
amazing human being.
He was truly one of a
kind.
I have already begun
making arrangements
with the funeral home near Dad's home. It is the same
funeral service that handled my mother's passing. They
have been, and continue to be, very supportive and
amazing. Memorial services and funeral details will be
announced when they are arranged.
For all of those who have reached out to myself and
my family, I simply don't have sufficient words of
gratitude... so please put a million exclamation marks
behind the words, "Thank you."
I held off on posting this so that I could be certain
family members were aware.
Dad loved jokes. He loved stories. Please share any
you would like to in the comments.
To all of our friends and family, I am so sorry to share
this news with you, and I am so grateful for your love
and support.
