As your student grows and matures your time with them begins to shrink . You have fewer car rides , less time around the dinner table , or less time playing together . �is does not mean your impact or influence on the discipleship of your child shrinks , but it may look different . One vitally important role for you to play as a parent of an upper school student is to diligently pray for them . Here are Seven �ings to Pray for Your Children . May this be a school year our community presses even further into fervent prayer to our gracious Lord !
In Chapel this year , we will be reading and teaching through the gospel of Mark in an effort to look closely at the person and work of Christ . �is brief article from Crossway , “ Why Study the Book of Mark ?” gives 3 helpful reasons for our study of Mark . We want students to continue to grow in their understanding of how Christ makes possible individual forgiveness and total restoration , and how he helps us embrace rejection when necessary as He did . If you are interested , Mark for Teenagers : How Jesus Changes Everything is a great resource . Students to do independently or as a family if you ’ d like to dig into the gospel of Mark with us this school year . May our understanding of the beauty of Christ grow and fuel our affection and devotion to Him this school year !

Schedules for the 2024-25 school year were released on Saturday , July 20 . Although every effort was made to place students in requested classes , there are several reasons that may not have been possible including conflicts within the master schedule , maximum class sizes , and not having the required prerequisite courses .
�e last day for students or parents to request a schedule change is Friday , August 2 . Please email all request changes to susan . beasley @ cpalions . org . All requests received by this date will be processed by the first day of school . A�er August 2 , the only requests considered will be teacher-recommended course adjustments .
Specific teacher or classmate / friend requests are not part of the scheduling process . �ank you for not emailing for requests of this nature . Due to conflicts within the master schedule , as well as class sizes , it is not always possible to grant schedule change requests .

Counselor Assignments As you know , all US students have been assigned to a specific College Counselor . You can be reminded of who your college counselor is in myCPA . Your College Counselor is listed in the “ Advisory ” section . New College Counseling Teammate Houston Nichols ‘ 15 will assume the role of Assistant Director of College Counseling - Athletics while maintaining his teaching and coaching duties . Each US student will continue to have a primary college counselor , and Mr . Nichols will be an additional resource for those students who are interested in pursuing athletics at the postsecondary level . We are thrilled to have him on our team ; he brings an acute understanding of the ever-changing landscape of college athletics as well as a desire to offer faithful mentorship to students interested in that path .
