The sightseeing tour offered by Gull Lake Cruises takes you around Steamboat Bay , Wilson and the main part of the lake . “ The area is really kind of unique in that you ’ re going to see loons . Plus , we have a lot of eagles ; and you may be lucky enough to see an otter , depending on what part of the lake or bay you are in . You may see some deer along the shoreline too ,” said Scarfino .
Cragun ’ s Gull Lake Cruises also offers private cruises on the big boat for weddings and other events . Plus , smaller watercraft are available to rent by individuals .
“ We have pontoon boats , fishing boats , ski boats and jet skis , as well as paddle boards , hydrobikes , kayaks and canoes available to rent for those who don ’ t want to go on a big cruise ,” said Scarfino . Cost ranges from $ 20 per hour to rent a paddleboard up to $ 600 to rent a pontoon boat for the full day .
Cragun ’ s Gull Lake Cruises , which is affiliated with Cragun ’ s Resort Golf and Conference , isn ’ t the only resort that offers cruises and boat rental options . Most resorts that are on the water do .
In addition , pretty much all of the big lakes — Mille Lacs , Gull Lake and Leech Lake to name a few — have rental companies that provide people with access to jet skis , paddleboards , canoes , kayaks , motorboats , pontoon boats and more .
For the past 25 years , Randy ’ s Rentals , owned by Randy Simons , has been renting jet skis , pontoon boats , fishing boats , kayaks and paddleboards to people on Lake Mille Lacs . The business is located at the southwest corner of the lake at 14531 Twilight Road in Onamia .
