SPORTS SPECIAL 3

SIX NATIONS:

THE PURSUIT FOR POINTS IN ROUND 3

The race for redemption for Italy and Scotland will take place this weekend; as surely the losing team will also lose any hope of a challenge for the title. The game kicks off at 14:30 on Saturday as both nations will try and force their way back into contention.

The race for first place is extremely close with Ireland and France on 4 points each, closely followed by England and Wales on 2. Ireland top the board thanks to their impressive defensive display so far, conceding only 9 points, compared to France’s 34. However France is still in major contention after firstly their narrow victory over England in round 1, and then Italy in round 2. They take on a good Wales side on Friday, kicking off at 20:00. This could prove to be another huge game as a defeat for Wales would surely crush any hope of catching up to Ireland.

Finally, England take on Ireland in a game that could shape the competition as a whole. With England only two points behind the leader it’s a must win game, and therefore a game they simply cannot afford to throw away. The match kicks off at 16:00 on Saturday and takes place at Twickenham giving England the home advantage. If this mixture of experience and youth keep up their current form then there’s no reason why they can’t knock Ireland off the top spot.
