Germany is top of the medal table in Sochi after their winter win streak in the luge. They managed to secure gold in the men’s, women’s, doubles and relay, with 4 track records. Helping to take their overall gold medal haul to 8.

Barcelona Triumph as City See Red

Barcelona earned a crucial win against Manchester City. The first goal came after a poor challenge by Demichelis warranted a red card before messi slotted the resulting penalty in the net, putting the Manchester City side 1 goal down and 1 man down. Man city recovered but that didn't sheild them from the late second goal, giving them everything to do at the Nou Camp.

Britain skating along in Sochi

Great Britain men are through to the curling semi-finals, looking to add to the gold medal tally., the women are in the bronze medal match. Not only this but Elise Christie will be looking to avenge her two disqualifications already suffered at these games; with the 1000m, her favoured event, left to go.

Hodgson Hopes for Brilliance in Brazil

Roy Hodgson as admitted his fears about high temperatures in England’s first world cup game however he still dreams that his side will be battling it out for the trophy. "We football people, I suppose we deal to some extent in dreams" said the 66 year old England coach.

McCullum Blasts Past 300

Brendon McCullum made history for New Zealand as he hit his way past the 300 mark against India in Wellington. McCullum became his country’s highest ever test scorer, ending on 302; also gaining the eighth longest innings in test history (774 minutes). But it wasn’t enough as the match finished in a draw.
