English Language Center
The English Language Center provides a comprehensive English language program in all skill areas and competencies for students wishing to pursue English medium-based majors at the University.
Admission to an undergraduate program at the University of Sharjah is based on a student’ s high school grades or any-post secondary studies. New students are required to take TOEFL or IELTS tests and achieve a passing score to be admitted to English medium-based programs at the University.
MAKING THE GRADE
As part of the University’ s minimum entrance requirements, any student wishing to enroll directly in an English-medium Major is required to submit either
an IELTS certificate with a minimum overall score of Band 5; or an iBT certificate with a minimum score of 61( please see notice below).
Alternatively, students may sit the Institutional TOEFL exam held at the University of Sharjah before the beginning of the next available semester. To be admitted for entry, students are required to attain a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
