College of Dentistry
Dentistry is a unique and remarkable specialty and a fulfilling profession among the health sciences. On the one hand, it relieves unbearable pain and on the other, it creates a beautiful smile, giving people more confidence.
The College of Dentistry attracts highly qualified faculty devoted to providing students with the full range of clinical and basic training to prepare them for key roles in UAE’ s healthcare system. Program streams have been developed under two departments: General and Specialist Dental Practice and Oral and Craniofacial Health Sciences.
The Department of General and Specialist Dental
Practice interfaces with the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Health Sciences in developing a motivating environment for dental education. This demanding role requires a strong team that helps develop academic dental clinical services that adhere to very high standards in patient care. Dental clinical practice programs are organized with support from academic stream coordinators, while a clinical coordinator runs the clinical services under the Academic Dental Center. Clinical students are our internal clients and patients visiting our clinics are our important guests and external clients.
Clinical education for students begins during their first year in the College and full dental clerkship commences in the fourth year. Senior clinical students are exemplary in patient care, while being intensively supervised by a
