College of Medicine
The College of Medicine aims to provide highly recognized and high quality medical and health care education and services, according to international standards, while maintaining the traditions and identity of the UAE society.
The College of Medicine was established in 2004 and is located at the Medical and Health Science Complex at the University of Sharjah, alongside the Colleges of Pharmacy, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Our curriculum is designed to deliver courses that meet the educational needs of medical students within the context of their communities, preparing them for the medical professions of the 21st century.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery
Our Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program is a six-year program, including one foundation year to prepare students to enter into medical curriculum, followed by an internship. The Medical College curriculum is developed, organized, and implemented as an outcome-based, integrated, patient-centered and problem-based learning curriculum. The undergraduate Medical College curriculum focuses on certain skills and competencies identified by international and regional medical education organizations. We adapt these competencies with respect to the cultural context of the medical practice in the Gulf region that are classified into six main competencies:
