An historic three-year Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) between UNSW Sydney and the Mid North Coast Local Health District ( MNCLHD ) will provide medical student placements in rural facilities and help identify research opportunities .
Under the MoU , fourth year medical students will complete a detailed research project – Independent Learning Projects – within the LHD , providing them with high-quality learning experiences . It will also enable further research consolidation and collaboration between UNSW and local facilities to jointly develop and apply for National Health and Medical Research Council ( NHMRC ) and Medical Research Future Fund ( MRFF ) grants .

UNSW Sydney has signed an historic threeyear Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) with the Mid North Coast Local Health District ( MNCLHD ), to help identify potential collaborative research opportunities and place undergraduate students in local rural health facilities .
The MoU focuses on providing high quality student placement and teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate medical students . Specifically , it offers Independent Learning Projects where fourth year medical students complete a detailed research project within the LHD . It also enables further consolidation and collaboration with UNSW to jointly develop and submit competitive National Health and Medical Research Council ( NHMRC ) and Medical Research Future Fund ( MRFF ) research grant applications .
