UNSW Brand Architecture

UNSW Brand Architecture

UNSW is a large , complex organisation with many sub-brands which are governed by our brand architecture . The brand architecture consists of four main categories seen on the right .

This style guide provides information on the creative treatment of category 3 , UNSW sub-brand specifically . It is intended to be used in conjunction with our Master Style Guide .

If you would like to obtain a categorisation for your entity , you must complete this form for review by the UNSW Brand Team . The Brand Team will review your responses against our brand architecture and provide you with an appropriate category . Approval must be sought for all new and updated entities that wish to apply the visual treatments in Categories 2 and 3 from 1 September 2020 .

Master Brand Aligned

Full alignment to UNSW master brand with program / unit / facility / school or faculty name used with UNSW crest . No separate logos to be developed . Expression through use of imagery , combination of UNSW brand graphic elements , colour palette or content .

Master Brand Expressive

Primarily using the master brand but with increased flexibility to allow further creative expression .

May lead with accent colour but must also use yellow . No separate logos or graphic elements however , alternative cropping and positioning of shapes considered ( similar to Tier 1 campaign applications ).

UNSW Sub-brands

Sub-brands can develop an independent logo which include “ UNSW ” ahead of the sub-brand name . They primarily use the master brand elements but with increased flexibility to allow further creative expression . May lead with accent colour but must also use yellow . No separate graphic elements are to be used however , alternative cropping and positioning of shapes considered ( similar to Tier 1 campaign applications ).

External & Affiliated Entities

Use the UNSW logo preceded with text that accurately describes the relationship such as “ Affiliated with ”, “ In partnership with ”, “ Sponsored by ” or “ In collaboration with ” in accordance with formal agreements with the external entities , the UNSW ’ s Logo Licence Agreement and Logo Use Guidelines .
