6.8 Wear It Purple Day
Wear It Purple Day 2021 was commemorated as the finale to MBA Leadership Week to encourage inclusion and diversity discussions among the MBA cohort . The event , organised by Pride @ AGSM , aimed to promote dialogue and create awareness about the high rates of suicide among LGBTQI + youth due to bullying and harassment . The panel included trans woman Maddison Harrington ( she / her ), a Lawyer at Gilchrist Connell ’ s Employment Law , Alan Wong ( he / him ), Principal and core member of the Consumer Practice at BCG and Stephanie White ( she / her ), Junior Consultant in BCG , who shared their coming out stories , career paths and discussed issue of identity at work . Over 50 attendees participated in the virtual event , including MBA students , faculty and alumni .
