Postgraduate Curriculum Audit 2019-2020
Between 2019 and 2020 a desk audit of postgraduate ( PG ) programs of study in the Business School was conducted to determine the coverage of responsible business themes . The audit consisted of analyses of course outlines , course Moodle sites , lecture resources , readings and other course resources . The purpose of the audit was twofold :
> To identify how PG courses and programs were ddressing areas of responsible business , as articulated in PRME criteria ;
> To compare current findings with those of a previous audit of PRME criteria in Business program offerings conducted in 2014 .
In 2014 , course outlines from 91 PG core courses were evaluated against eight PRME criteria . Over 20 % of the reviewed course outlines met at least half of the eight identified criteria , while 40 % had some coverage ( up to half of the criteria ).
Between 2019 and 2020 , 105 PG courses , including core courses and a selection of gateway and capstone courses across the programs , were audited against six criteria ( listed in Table 4 ). Results showed some improvements in PRME coverage at course level : whilst only just over 20 % of courses met at least half of the identified criteria ; the percentage of courses with some coverage grew to 48 %; and the percentage of courses having no coverage of PRME criteria dropped to 31 %.
At the program level , the three programs with the strongest coverage of the PRME criteria are the MBAX Social Impact ( see Section 1.1 ) the MBA Executive and the Master of Commerce ( see Table 4 ). Significant changes have occurred within these programs , and both the MBA Executive and Master of Commerce have improved their coverage of PRME criteria from a moderate level to a majority of audited courses . The Graduate Certificate in Social Impact has been developed into a Master level program and has continued to address PRME criteria at the highest level among PG programs . The Master of Actuarial Studies has improved its coverage along with a newly developed Master of Financial Analysis in addressing PRME criteria at a moderate level .
