Pro Vice Chancellor Indigenous ( PVCI ) Professor Megan Davis – a Cobble Cobble woman from the Barrungam Nation – is the elected Chair of the United Nations Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous People . The July 2021
appointment comes in Professor Davis ’ second term as an expert member of the UN body .

Within the Business School , initiatives and outcomes since our 2019 SIP report include the following .
> In 2020 a scholarship fund was established to enable Indigenous students to study postgraduate coursework at AGSM . The AGSM Indigenous Leadership Scholarship will contribute to the growth and development of emerging Indigenous leaders and equip them to play a bigger role in national and international industry . The Scholarship can be used to complete an AGSM Master of Management , a full-time MBA , Executive MBA or MBAX ( fully online ) and is awarded based on academic merit and leadership qualities demonstrated upon application . Two scholarships are offered per year , with funds of up to $ 40,000 awarded to each successful candidate .
> Emerging Indigenous Executive Leaders Program ( EIELP ): This AGSM program won silver in the 2020 EFMD
Excellence in Practice Award for the Talent Development category . More than 65 Indigenous emerging leaders have completed the EIELP since it was launched in 2017 and another 31 participants make up the fourth cohort that started in 2021 .
> Since the inception of the national Indigenous Business Month in 2015 , the Business School has worked closely with its founders , Indigenous businesses and communities to run
Indigenous Business Month activities at UNSW . This key engagement strategy connects our students and staff with Indigenous entrepreneurs and leaders through panel discussions , business showcases , plenary sessions and market-places held on campus and virtually .
> Indigenous scholarships are provided thanks to numerous donors , including the Maple Brown Foundation and Ryan Family Scholarship . The Business School has also funded a number of new scholarships for Indigenous students who successfully articulate from the UNSW
Indigenous Pre -Program in Business , our key articulation program for Indigenous students to study one of our undergraduate degrees . Students receive $ 5- $ 10k p . a . throughout their studies at the Business School . We also offer two additional Indigenous postgraduate scholarships between $ 5- $ 10k .
> Appointment of Indigenous Adjunct Professors at AGSM : Mark Rose ( Indigenous programs Academic Director ), Amanda Tootell , Steve Munns , Mark Champley and , most recently , Glen Johnston . These specialists will contribute to a wide range of AGSM leadership initiatives , ensuring Indigenous expertise and experience is integrated across all programs . They will build on current Indigenous Leadership programs and introduce new ones designed specifically to equip more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander managers to accelerate their careers .
