Born from "Necessity" Zawadi Parizek envisioned a collaboration that could act and make a difference. After "guilting" her nearest and dearest into participating in a charity cake collaboration; the group began to grow "exponentially" and suddenly Parikez realized they had the potential to create REAL change. What began as an insiders joke soon trasformed into the United Nations of Sugar Art (UNSA). A volunteer workforce dedicated to inspiring social change. She took on the responsibilities as director and gave her team of artists the creative freedom to do what they do best; creating stunning edible art.

UNSA is a 200+ member strong International Organization comprised of sugar artists of all ages and abilities from all corners of the globe. United by their common interests of creating edible art to raise awareness and fund-raising for different global causes. Parizek talks in detail about the dedication of her team which includes Youtube personalities, professionals, novices and business entities "With over 200 members from 40 different countries and speaking several languages UNSA is truly a global coalition. We have also taken an innovative step by joining with Youtube personalities for the first time. Our Youtube friends have provided exclusive videos dedicated to #BeTeamRed."

The United Nations of Sugar Art (UNSA) Is unlike other charitable causes because it addresses different Global causes annually. This year the team is focusing it's efforts on "World AIDS day"; raising funds for the AIDS 'Global Fund” and raising awareness for AIDS and HIV related causes. Members change from year to year and have the freedom to choose which causes they wish to support. Parizek is impassioned when she discusses the inspiration behind 'BeTeamRed', “This year, under the UNSA logo we will stand together as Be Team RED on December 1st to honor the importance of World AIDS Day. We want to remember those lost to Aids and those still living with HIV and AIDS. We want to acknowledge that 600 children a day are infected with HIV through mother to child transmission. Finally we want to say, “no more” to the stigma and discrimination due to being HIV positive. The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria has been waging war against AIDS since 2002 and it is our chosen charity for UNSA 2015. Over 200 Artists using edible mediums have volunteered their time, materials and talent to stand together to support the Global Fund.”

The Global Fund is “An International financing organization that partners governments, civil society, the private sector and people affected by the disease the The Global Fund mobilizes billions of dollars a Year to support local programs.” - (RED)
