In some cases, these complications can cause death.
Do women who have an abortion have emotional issues afterward?
After an abortion, some women experience initial relief. The crisis is over and life returns to normal. For most women though, the crisis is only begining. Days, months, and years later, significant problems develop, like clinical depression, drug and alcohol abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, nightmares, thoughts of suicide, guilt, grief, anger and eating disorders, etc.
Is abortion wrong?
Most women who struggle with this question are really asking how one defines "life". Some people believe pregnancy doesn't begin until the fertilized egg is implanted in the womb. However, scientific reality is that at conception, the fertilized egg is a viable life form. That's why many people believe human life begins at conception, and any method that destroys the new life growing inside a pregnant woman is wrong.
