It’s impossible to read that title and not break out into song. The music for Beauty and The Beast is classic and greatly adds to a movie that is perfect for someone who is a complete romantic. Disney has a lot of movies that revolve around love. What makes Beauty and The Beast different from the rest is definitely its main character, Belle. She’s a strong female character who kids can look up to and adults can root for. This movie is for when you need a classic fairytale in your life because who doesn’t need that sometimes, right? It’s the perfect movie to watch while curled up on your couch wearing sweat pants and eating chocolate.

It’s a movie about toys coming to life, so it might be hard to argue where the appeal for adults lies. I know I still watch this movie because of how big of an impact it had on my childhood. What about people who didn’t grow up with this movie? I think that enjoyment of Toy Story revolves around its characters. I actually find myself relating and identifying with the characters more and more the older I get. It’s because they aren’t cookie cutter characters. The heroes have flaws and there isn’t even really a “bad guy” in the entire movie. Also, Tom Hanks can do no wrong.

Much like Hunchback, The Incredibles is a lot darker than most family films and relies a lot more on action. That in itself makes this movie a standout. The ups and downs that our superhero family, the Parrs, experience are extremely relatable, even though I’m sure no one here has to hide superpowers. Their family struggles are genuine struggles that everyday people go through, like a mid-life crisis, feeling different and isolated from everyone else, and overall just being frustrated with life. It’s fun to watch, but it’ll also make you think, which is what good movies are supposed to do.
