How I Found Out About Hip Flexors
So here goes, up until a few months ago I was struggling with
consistent back pain and sudden feelings of numbness, especially in
my legs and pelvic region. It had gotten so bad that I could barely
maintain one position for a few minutes, both standing and sitting. I
would have to lean against a wall, tuck my feet under myself on the
chair while working, and readjusting every few minutes to try and
take some of the pressure I felt off my back.
Even sleeping was a problem, and to make matters worse my posture
and walking style had changed so much that people started noticing. I
knew this was not normal and that I had to do something for the sake
of my own well-being.
As you might expect, my immediate reaction was to see an expert. I
make several visits to a physiotherapist and after multiple sessions,
several exercise recommendations, a lot of ibuprofenn and a dented
bank account, I didn’t really see a lot of change.
My problems were caused by my lifestyle. I was not physically active
enough.
It all made sense. I wasn’t this way growing up. When I was younger, I
was a very active person. I was all about outdoor games, running
around, doing sports and generally being active. I can’t say the same
now. I, and most of America, spend an increasingly alarming amount
of time sitting down. In front of our computers, watching TV, in our
cars, at work, and so on.
