Jackensita Charles * The Impact of the January 12 , 2010 Haitian Earthquake : Rebuilding a Nation This research takes a closer look at the January 12 , 2010 earthquake that struck Haiti , causing thousands of deaths and countless injured . Many Haitians lost their family , friends , homes , and jobs . The earthquake dramatically impacted the country ’ s economy and society . Still not fully recovered , the people of Haiti struggle to rebuild their country with support from many individuals and organizations .

Alexandra Carradorini , Haley Yerger , Payton Romano , and Tawah Dennis * De-escalating Aggressive or Violent Residents For this literature review , we collected data from systematic reviews , concept analyses , and qualitative and quantitative studies to find the best interventions for each phase of aggression . It revealed that nurses who had knowledge of proper interventions were more successful in de-escalating aggressive patients . This information will be used to educate caregivers at Mustard Seed on ways to de-escalate aggressive residents .

Trauma ’ s effects on children , mothers , and caregivers will be discussed . Different types of trauma include violence and physical , verbal , and sexual abuse . This paper reviews the benefits of self-care for caregivers . This research will be used to design training for the Mustard Seed Community in Jamaica .
Zoe Kloufetos , Julianne Dove , and Keely Greene * Self-Care Techniques to Reduce Caregiver Stress Mental stress and burnout are typical problems in healthcare professionals , leading to many potential physical and psychological issues . The purpose of our interventions is to educate caregivers on ways to perform self-care activities to relieve stress . Research indicates that the implementation of various stress reducing techniques that encompass self-care is beneficial for caregivers to utilize to prevent burnout .
