Anna Blackney , Megan Ward , Siobhan McShea , and Abigail Lamnin Relaxation Techniques to Reduce Caregiver Stress A literature review on relaxation techniques was conducted to determine interventions designed to provide caregivers within the Mustard Seed Communities of Jamaica with effective coping mechanisms to reduce stress . Mindfulness and meditation , expressive writing , Emotional Freedom Techniques ( EFT ), and social support groups were evaluated . Research suggests significant stress reduction occurs when caregivers utilize these relaxation techniques .

Alexandria Albright The Many Faces of Anxiety This presentation explores anxiety in everyday life and how COVID-19 has impacted experiences with anxiety . Discussion includes personal reflection as well as ideas that emerged from talking with others about these issues . The goal is to raise awareness of the impact of anxiety on young people in today ’ s world , highlighting how anxiety appears different , yet similar across individuals dealing with it .
Jourdain Anthony-Vail The Role of Race & Psychology This presentation is intended to display the relationship between racism and the psychological effects it has on different members of American society . The psychological circumstances leading to overt expressions of racism will also be explored . Throughout this presentation , I will discuss ways to also mitigate the stigma of discussing race in public settings .
Alexis Cobbs The Psychology of Thrill-Seeking Behaviors This presentation will explore the psychological motivation behind thrill-seeking behaviors . Different types of thrill-seeking behaviors ( e . g ., skydiving ) will be discussed as well as reflections from people who have engaged in these types of activities . I will also share my personal experience with thrill-seeking behaviors .
Taylor Fischer Running Away from Your Worries : The Effects of Exercise on Stress This presentation will discuss ways that exercise can promote mental wellbeing . Specifically , the effect of different types of exercises ( e . g ., aerobic , weight-bearing , yoga , meditation ) on stress level will be examined . Research on this topic will be explored in the context of reflecting on a personal intervention to reduce stress through exercise .
