Xavier Nies Are Collateral Consequences Truly Necessary ? The purpose of this research study is to understand the public ’ s perception of collateral consequences of crimes . Studying the public ’ s view on their effectiveness , their general knowledge , and the overall purpose of the different collateral consequences will give us a window on whether people think punishment ends when someone is done serving their prison sentence . This presentation will evaluate the results of the tested survey I created about collateral consequences .
Adrian Sasin Gun Control in America vs . Other Countries Gun control has been a problem within this country and all over the world for many years . The purpose of this study is to investigate how gun control works in America compared to other countries . In order to understand the issues , there must to a clear understanding of the issue at hand . Native-born Americans and those born abroad were surveyed to find out what they think about American gun culture and policies .
Emily Shaheen Parental Alcoholism Effects On Children ’ s Future Drinking Behavior Alcohol consumption directly affects the human brain , which means that people who consume alcohol frequently have issues with judgment and thinking correctly . Many people who abuse alcohol are then responsible for taking care of children , affecting their development over time . This project will research whether children grow up to become alcoholics like their guardians or if they choose to sustain from alcohol .
Gregory Wenclawiak Determining the Success of the Camden County Police Reform The purpose of the study is to look at how Camden City ’ s police reform has impacted their community . It seeks to understand the techniques , efforts , time , budgeting , and tactics constructed by Camden County , so we can implement and perfect police reform and institute it amongst struggling departments across the country . I aim to determine if Camden ’ s Department can be used as the stepping-stone of police reform . This will be conducted in various ways including but not limited to community involvement & cooperation , and several aspects of crime & cost .
Jazmyn Wittmer The Attention , Memory , and Comprehension of Jurors Throughout the years our criminal justice system has failed to serve justice correctly . With wrongful convictions still being an issue , this presentation is going to provide information based off of the memory , attention , and comprehension of jurors . It is not fair to the offender to be judged by a jury of his or her peers if they cannot memorize , comprehend , or even pay attention to the case . This study uses a simple selective attention task to see how much the average person retains and how this could inform what jurors pay attention to .
