Serial Killers
The purpose of my research study is to see if students at Gwynedd
Mercy University associate an individual’s intelligence level,
specifically serial killers, with how attractive they view the person.
Hollywood makes us think that serial killers are both considered intelligent as
well as attractive, despite contrary evidence about actual serial killers.

Sex Trafficking Legislation in the United States
According to the law, anyone under the age of 18 who is selling
sex is automatically considered a victim of trafficking. The
landmark “Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000” laid the
initial groundwork for the federal government’s response to human trafficking.
More recently, Congress has continued to build on this foundation, ultimately
expanding the U.S. strategy to combat sex trafficking and labor trafficking
through a holistic, multi-agency approach.

Recognition of Human Trafficking as a First Responder
As a first responder, there is an increased chance that you will
come into contact with the victims of human trafficking and/
or child sex trafficking. This presentation will provide you the
knowledge to recognize the signs to look for and give advice for how to properly
react when you believe a member of the public may be the victim of trafficking.

The 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and its Effect on Violent Crime
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of the 1994 assault
weapons ban by conducting statistical analysis on Uniform Crime
Reporting Data. As violent crime is often correlated with guns,
specifically assault-style weapons, this study will aim to determine whether
effective legislation will be able to reduce violent crime within states and over
time.
