No more petals flew through the light. No more fruits were to be given to the hungry animals of the night. No more innocence crept into the rose bush. No more people could observe the beauty of the once magnificent garden. The ethereal aspects had now disappeared without a trace. The village had shed tears, now confused and overwhelmed with anger.
“How could this be?!”
“What will we do?”
“How will we survive?”
Truthfully, there was no survival left. No one took the seeds. The cobblestone fountain no longer stood tall and overflowed with water; it did not function anymore. The ability and grace of the garden no longer cooperated. Everything was taken. No more herbs would heal the children, no more food to eat, and no more pure water to drink from the fountain. Everyone screeched out in fear. They all stared into each other, awaiting for someone to take charge and announce a plan. There was no plan. Their survival was crushed. What will happen now? To restart from where they began? To rebuild something they never created?
Maybe this was meant to happen. The garden was never theirs to begin with. No one knew who it belonged to. Whoever it was; their grace will no longer bring life back. It was over. Their humanity is destroyed.
