ho doesn ' t want to have more confidence, have more energy, and begin each day with a better mindset? You can achieve this along with a laundry list of other benefits from simply exercising and engaging in some type of physical activity. There is no argument that daily exercise is beneficial to improving your overall health and wellness as well as your quality and longevity of life. Regardless of your training abilities and experience, everyone can and will benefit from daily physical activity. Here are a few reasons why you should start to engage in healthy, active lifestyle.
WEIGHT CONTROL
Whether you are trying to lose weight, maintain weight, or gain weight, diet and exercise are going to be the deciding factor. When exercising or engaging in physical activity, you will begin to burn calories, and the more you turn the dial up on the intensity, the more calories you will burn. If you can maintain an exercise schedule and burn more calories than you consume, then weight loss will begin to happen.
If you are burning and consuming the same amount of calories, then you will maintain your current weight. When consuming more calories than you are burning, weight gain will occur. People are busy and not everyone has the opportunity to fit time in to work out, but there are plenty of alternatives to get active throughout the day. Some great ways to get active without going to the gym are: chores, yard work, choosing the stairs over elevator, walking the dog instead of just letting it out, bike rides, or swimming, to name a few.
DISEASE PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT
People who are physically active will increase their longevity of life and lower their risk for heart disease. Exercise also aids in reducing and managing a wide range of health complications and concerns, including stroke, cancers, type 1 and 2 diabetes, depression, and arthritis. Living a healthy life should be a priority in your life and, without exercise, you are putting yourself at a higher risk of disease. This
alone can affect your opportunity to live a healthy life.
