Stay physically healthy. Grief can be physically draining on your immune system and overall health. Be sure to get plenty of sleep, healthy food and exercise to help your body deal with grief, both physically and emotionally.

Consider joining a support group. Finding others to talk to who are also grieving can be extremely beneficial. You can help one another. Depending on where you live, a local church or counselor can help connect you to group in your area!

Be open. Let close friends, family and loved ones know how they can help specifically, such as sharing wants or needs. Openly communicating how they can best serve you as you grieve is not only beneficial to you but also gives them an opportunity to take part in your healing process.
